In the centre of “new Lille”- Euralille, near the station -  archeologists have brought to light the remains of the great wall of Vauban, hidden under a mound of earth. In doing so, they have also discovered, beneath the wall, the remains of the eradicated suburbs from the time of its construction. A whole section of the history of Lille’s past thus reappears.
