Vénissieux: Roaring Twenties dump
by Eliott Maintigneux
In Venissieux, in the suburbs of Lyon, archeologists have brought to light a defensive ditch from the late 19th century, a section of which has been filled during the ‘20s and ‘30s by domestic scraps made of ceramic and glass: fragments of chinese porcelain, thin earthenware wrapping, etc. This search testifies to the evolution of preventive archeology as it takes increasing consideration of recent periods.
